U30 Application Model

n the fourth article of this series, Utilligent’s U30 Application Model is explored. The model is comprised of six Application Hubs, which form the outer ring, and the core.

Integration within and between the application hubs is based on the Common Information Model (CIM), a standard defined by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) and the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). The CIM is key to breaking down information silos and facilitating event streaming data exchange.

The CIM unification of customer systems, the live network state, and energy location value unlocks the capability to deliver real-time, fine-grained outage management, time-of-use market-making data, and balance and flexibility control in the network below the substation, providing real-time distributed energy storage and dispatch signals.
